The 2013 Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange showed that the 2012-2013 school year brought in record numbers of international exchange students to United States colleges and universities. Approximately 819,644 undergraduate and graduate exchange students are studying at U.S. institutions.

International students have given around $24 billion to the U.S. economy for the school year. Chinese, Indian, and South Korean students now comprise 49% of the total number of international students in the country.

According to the report, the majority of exchange students choose to study in California, New York, Texas, Massachusetts, and Illinois.

In many cases, immigration laws can prevent people from entering the United States and participating in higher education programs. If you are interested in obtaining legal documentation and you live in the Austin area, contact the Law Office of William Jang PLLC, at (512) 323-2333.
