Immigration policies affect 2014 Texas elections

Posted on October 23rd, 2013 No Comments

With the 2014 election cycle in Texas looming around the corner, immigration policy is becoming one of the year’s most important issues.

Houston Senator Dan Patrick’s first television ad in his bid as lieutenant governor portrayed his disapproval of a law that allows children of immigrants who illegally entered the United States to pay in-state tuition if they were otherwise verified as Texas residents.

Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson and Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst also voiced their opposition for the law.
