The United States Department of State has announced today that it will expedite student visas and the Bureau of Consular Affairs will give special priority to student visa appointments.

The State Department hopes this will encourage foreign students to travel abroad. U.S. agencies will process student visas within fifteen days and will set up appointments also within fifteen days of applying.

International student populations in America increased by 9% percent last year and over $21.3 billion was brought into the domestic economy. The State Department stresses the importance of fostering respect, understanding, and goodwill between Americans and people from all over the world.
