Strictest immigration law in the country resides in Alabama

Posted on September 28th, 2011 No Comments

A new immigration law that has been established in Alabama is being called the strictest in the country. This immigration law focuses on the public school system and requires schools to verify students’ immigration standings.

This law does not pertain to students who were registered for school before September 1st, 2011. Many Hispanic families are withdrawing their students from schools across the state of Alabama. There are numerous illegal children going to school in Alabama and although the new law might not apply to them and their family, they don’t want to take the chance and stay.

Gathering statistical information is the main reason for the application of this law, according to the state. The administration associated with Obama is appealing this new law on the grounds that Alabama doesn’t have the ability to issue regulations regarding immigration.
