Visas for Iraqis who helped United States on hold

Posted on July 14th, 2011 No Comments

Background checks have now become mandatory by the Obama administration for Iraqi immigrants to obtain their Visas into the United States. This new addition to the process is a direct result of two Iraqi immigrants being arrested in Kentucky based on evidence they were aiding an insurgent group.

According to documents, this year might be as low as 2007 in regards to the amount of Iraqi immigrants that are granted a Visa due to their helping the United States government during the war. Serious concern for these immigrants is on the rise because of the expected exit of American troops in the coming years.

The Iraqis that do choose to put their lives on the line to help the United States are promised the opportunity to live in America. Multiple families are experiencing threats and defeat when their guaranteed Visas are taken back for an indefinite amount of time.

If you have chosen to immigrate to the United States, you need experienced representation to help you file for a nonimmigrant Visa. Please contact the Austin immigration lawyers of the Law Office of William Jang, PLLC, by calling 512-323-2333 today.
