Texas lawmakers continue to file immigration bills

Posted on February 9th, 2011 No Comments

Texas lawmakers are continuing to file and pass new immigrations laws. Just as the voter ID legislation was passed, the total of immigration-related bills still remains at nearly three dozen.

One bill, that has already made national headlines, called the “birther bill” will require a person running for president or vice president to show proof of natural-born citizenship on the ballots in Texas.

Another bill filed by the same representative is made to challenge the 14th Amendment, which gives anyone citizenship who is born in the United States. If this bill is passed it will prevent the county’s registrar from giving a birth certificate to a baby that is born to undocumented parents.

If you or a loved one are struggling with your citizenship in the country, you need representation on your side that can help you during this stressful an confusing time. Contact the Austin family immigration lawyers of the law office of William Jang, PLLC by calling 512-323-2333 today.
