Clergy in Texas pushes for DREAM Act to pass in Senate

Posted on December 17th, 2010 No Comments

Clergy in Texas are pushing for the passage of the DREAM Act in the legislature.

A spokeswoman for Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson has said that she will not be approving the bill because it is “too expansive.” The Senate will probably be voting over the bill this week and the House has already approved it.

The purpose of the DREAM Act is to create a pathway for immigrants who were brought to the country as illegal minors to receive legal status. Clergy from San Antonio and other areas in the state of Texas marched on Capitol Hill in order to push Senators toward passing the bill.

If you were brought to the country illegally as a minor and are searching for legal status, contact the family immigration lawyers Austin of the law office of William Jang, PLLC, by calling 512-323-2333.
