Houston native wrongly deported

A 19-year-old Houston-native was wrongly deported to Mexico after insisting to officials that he was a U.S. citizen. Nearly three months later he has finally returned back to America.

The teenager said that the man was detained by immigration officials 85 days ago where he was “pressured to sign papers that cleared the way for his removal to Mexico.” The man was detained after a traffic stop in South Texas. He was then detained for eight hours where he was questioned about his citizenship.

The teenager even gave officials a copy of his birth certificate that stated that he was born at Ben Taub Hospital. The teenager said that his lack of fluency is what caused the officials to be suspicious of him.
