Texas House holds public hearing on illegal immigration

Posted on August 18th, 2010 No Comments

This week it was decided that a public hearing will be held in the Texas House to discuss the federal compliance of undocumented workers.

This does not mean that the Legislature will be considering any of the bills proposed, but it does mean that they will be able to be filed and that they may get more consideration than they would have in the past.

For example, in the 2007 session, former chairman of the House State Affairs Committee threw out two dozen bills on the topic. This year, one proposal that it being talked about is a bill that would deny illegal immigrants of health and education.
