Perry asks Obama for more troops in Texas

Posted on August 10th, 2010 No Comments

President Obama visited Texas yesterday where he was asked by Governor Perry to add 1,000 more troops to the Texas border.

While in Texas, President Obama also went to multiple Democratic fundraisers and gave a speech on education. Shortly after meeting the President, Perry gave him a letter that described that the number of troops that will be coming to Texas to stay at the U.S.-Mexico border is not enough.

Perry feels that a tighter border security is needed in order to protect the lives and jobs for U.S. residents. Perry noted that the transnational gangs at the border are a rising danger for citizens.
