Texas Republicans spilt on immigration issue

Posted on August 4th, 2010 No Comments

Texas Republican politics are seeing a split due to the immigration issue. The divide is between the very conservative side and the side that thinks immigration reform is needed.

Texas Evangelical ministers are siding with immigration reform and feel that guiding a path to citizenship will be better than deporting millions of immigrants. On the other side, the hard right Republicans think that the illegal immigrants broke the law and need to deported before given any chance to enter the country.

The hard right side are pushing for an Arizona-style immigration law for Texas and think that the evangelical ministers are at risk of losing the White House and their congregations.
