Student Visa Eligibility
Foreign students who wish to study in the United States must apply for an F-1 visa. The visa application process can be complex and time-consuming, especially if you are not familiar with the process or if English is not your native language. If you are a student and intend to study in the U.S., consider consulting with Austin immigration attorney William Jang today at 512-323-2333 for assistance with your application.
Conditions for Eligibility
To be considered for an F-1 visa, the applicant must have been accepted to and have signed up for full-time enrollment at an American educational institution. Students cannot be enrolled part-time in school and be granted an F-1 visa. The student must also have a high level of proficiency in English or must have enrolled in an English language course.
Proof of Residence and Intent to Depart
For a student to be granted an F-1 visa, one key requirement is that the applicant must prove that he or she has a residence abroad in his or her home country. The applicant should be able to show that he or she intends to return to his or her home country after studies are completed. This can be accomplished by providing information on family residing within the home country, ties to educational institutions, and involvement in social groups.
